A Beautiful Message

Words of inspiration and encouragement from Jo Hayes, an Australian Benedictine Oblate

Hello to you, Monica.
Jo Hayes here, of course.
God bless you.
A very brief message, but easier to voice this than email reply.
Your latest belle is beautiful.
Praise be to God, well done to you.
She is a joy.
Amen.
Thank you again for your beautiful, beautifully worded emails.
You describe spiritual things and all things, no doubt in a beautifully descriptive way.
And yes, I will hold all of your intentions –as I said, in my heart, as I continue to travel the globe and travel to many beautiful churches, monasteries, and abbeys.
As I’m recording this, you may be able to hear them in the background.
The local congregation of Benedictine nuns, where I am staying in Rome are currently engaged in Compline.
So it’s delightful to be sitting here having some of my own prayer and contemplation time listening to their Compline –that is all.
God bless you.
Oh, and a PS.
Thank you for your lovely, joyous response to my picture with Pope Francis.
Praise be to God.
Yes, a true joy.
So thank you.
Oh, and a PPS.
This is an extraordinarily blessed, graced, grace-filled day weekend because we are right in the middle of Rosh Hashanah, which is the Jewish Hebrew New Year Festival, which began sundown Friday and ends sundown Sunday.
So it’s a three day Jewish festival, the New Year, the Jewish Hebrew New Year.
I love this festival, and of course the Jewish festivals are very special because Jesus celebrated these.
So while we no longer have to celebrate them, we can celebrate them and commemorate them if we so choose as Catholic Christians.
So that is happening.
And I love the spiritual significance of a year coming to an end and a brand new fresh year beginning.
So that and tomorrow the 17th of September is the feast of Saint Hildegard, one of my very, very special and favorite saints.
One of my close, spiritual kindreds.
And as I believe you know, Hildegard is my oblate name, Jo Hildegard Hayes.
So a very, very special celebration for me and the whole church this weekend.
