SINSINAWA DOMINICAN OF THE HOLY ROSARY
Sinsinawa Dominican Sister of the Holy Rosary – Sister Maria Seraphina, O.P. “Veritas, Caritas” – “Truth, Charity, and Love”
Founders: Venerable Samuel Charles Mazzuchelli, O.P. Mother Emily Power, O.P.
Place: Sinsinawa, Wisconsin
Year: 1849 A.D.
Her Charism: The single mission of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) is to proclaim the Gospel through preaching and teaching. By identifying with each culture and listening to the poor, (contemplation) this Sister brings the creative, incarnate, and revealed Word of God to people in varying societies and circumstances (bringing others the fruits of her contemplation). She sees the world hungering for truth and an equally urgent need for human compassion, love and mercy. She has a tongue ever ready to tell of Mary, the tender Mother of Our Savior, and participates fully in building a holy and just society through limitless ministries. The four pillars of this Sister’s radiant Dominican spirituality are: community, prayer, preaching, and study.
