FRANCISCAN SISTER OF THE EUCHARISTIC HEART OF JESUS
Franciscan Sister of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus – Sister Maria Liguori, F.E.H.G. “My people do not know Me. Those who were to give witness no longer do so” – Jesus “That He may be known, loved, and adored in the Sacrament of His Love”
Foundresses: Mother Kathleen Francis of Christ the Good Shepherd (Kathleen O’Leary) Sister Clare of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament (Mary Ellen Clarke)
Place: Des Moines, Iowa
Year: 1994 A.D.
Her Charism: This contemplative-active Sister is called to be enfolded in the tender Eucharistic Heart of Christ. There in His Heart she listens to Him in silence and solitude and contemplates Him and His great love. She praises, thanks, and adores Him with every beat of her heart. Her Franciscan Mission is to heal wounds – “to console and unite what has fallen apart, and bring hope to those who have lost they way” or abandoned Jesus. She makes reparation for those who have offended Him in His sacrament of Love, and through educating the young and counseling the wounded gives explicit visible witness to the reality of a living and merciful God. Through the power of Christ present in the Holy Eucharist and under the guidance of our Immaculate Mother Mary, she gives herself totally through her four vows, her prayers, and her labors in and out of the classroom.
