Augustinian Servant of Jesus and Mary

Augustinian Servant of Jesus and Mary  –  Sister Caterina of Our Lady’s Interior Life, ASJM

            – a dream to build a community that lives the Gospel – a small church that                              lives a communion of love . . . and a wish to become one with Christ is realized –                ” I would like to enter the very Heart of God and live there the whole drama of God’s                      infinite love for man; the love of Christ that calls for the service of one’s neighbor.”                                                                                                                 – Mother Maria Teresa  Spinelli                                                                                                                                                                                    Foundress:  Venerable Mother Maria Teresa Spinelli, an Augustinian Sister                                   Place:  Frosinone, Italy                                                                                                                              Year:  September 23, 1827 A.D.                                                                                                                Her Charism:  This courageous Sister’s mission is one of both contemplation and service.  Following the example of Mary, she focuses on educating, assisting, and guiding young people and performing other charitable works to help them reach their Creator.  Hers is also a life of serving Jesus, like Mary,  who was the “Handmaid of the Lord.”  By identifying with Jesus Christ, the obedient suffering servant of God, she participates fully in the Mystery of Jesus and of His Church.  Because Christ’s desire was to fulfill His Father’s Will even unto His death on the Cross, she offers herself to the Father in obedience to her Superiors and by her service to God’s children.  This Augustinian Sister’s ministries include educating young minds and hearts, assisting the marginalized youth and women by providing medical assistance, and  building communities that live the Gospel united in heart and soul in the ardor charity.  Simply put, she serves like Jesus Who came to serve and not be served, and to serve like Mary who, with her “Yes”, made the Incarnation possible.  In this way she fosters a community that truly is like a small church animated by the bond of charity and lives in harmonious unity ( a visible sign of the communion of saints in Heaven ) the contemplative and active life. Like her Foundress, she prays for great mercy for all mankind.
