Foundress:  Servant of God, Mother Marie-Adèle Garnier  (Mother Marie du Saint Pierre)

Places:  Paris, France originally; and London, England presently. . . (motherhouse location)

Years:  1898 A.D., (Paris); and 1903 A.D., (London)

Her Charism:  This daughter of St. Benedict was born on the Calvary of our persecuted Church- the “Montmartre” (Mount of Martyrs) of London or the “Tyburn Gallows” – the most sacred place in London.  Preferring nothing to the love of Christ Who shines through the Eucharist, she is a victim destined for Adoration of the Sacred Heart – an Adorer of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Eucharist.  In her littleness, she offers a serene abandonment in loving conformity with the good pleasure of God.  A sanctuary of ceaseless prayer, Adoration, and reparation, she fulfills a prophesy made years ago amid the frenzy of the times on the site where 105 Catholic English martyrs including    St. Oliver Plunkett and St. Edmund Campion were tortured and executed during the English Reformation (1535 A.D. – 1681 A.D.).  Cloistered, missionary in spirit, but not exiled, her work, prayer, penance, and fervent discreet zeal, combined with Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist to the Heart of Jesus exposed in the Blessed Sacrament is made in reparation for the offenses against the Sacred Heart in the Blessed Sacrament.  She atones for the sacrileges and blasphemies against the Blessed Sacrament committed by priests and lay people.  Her distinctive purpose is to consecrate the whole human race to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, (the sacrament of charity), through her unceasing homage of love, reparation, authentic acts of charity and hospitality, and the glorification of the Most Blessed Trinity by Holy Mass – the “SUN” in her life and the leaven of this handmaid’s soul here on earth.  In addition, she has a choral celebration of the Divine Office, Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Monstrance, and daily prayer for the entire human family which encounters a daily spiritual battle between light and darkness.  Embracing the spirit of her foundress, Mother Adèle Garnier, the special characteristic of this contemplative Benedictine nun is a state of victimhood and an example of heroic confidence, calm, and tranquility in the midst of impossibilities – a  model for global evangelization.  In holy humility and fraternal charity, she lives the relationship between Eucharist and witness and between the Paschal Mystery and martyrdom.  In essence, as she abides in the love of the Eucharistic Jesus, she is a “spiritual host.”
