Her Charism:  Rooted in the spirituality and apostolic zeal of her founder, this Sister is called to be a mystic and prophet with a heart free of boundaries and open to being sent out by the Lord on behalf of His Gospel.  She embraces the need for personal holiness, broad study and deep piety.  Because she is an educator in the Faith, in all her ministries she develops the mind, cultivates the heart, enkindles zeal for service especially to those who are counted among the poorest and underserved in the Western Hemisphere.  This Sister encourages others to place their hope in the Cross, and she unites with others as “family.”  She recognizes, contemplates, and honors the God of Jesus Christ in every human person.  Like the Sorrowful Mother, she is a faithful, reassuring. tender presence in their darkest hours, and in their despair and times of greatest suffering.   Willingly she stands at the foot of their crosses to bear witness to the light of hope that shines forth from Christ’s resurrection.  This Holy Cross Sister resolutely puts her hand to the “work of resurrection” and prepares the world for a better tomorrow as she turns schools, parishes and missions into families of faith.  United together emulating the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, she believes that all can become signs of the true communion possible with God.  To this end, she will shrink from no sacrifice to forge solidarity with people through education and work tirelessly on their behalf for justice and peace.  This Sister sees the Hand of Divine Providence through the crosses she bears in hope, believing that God is present and makes all things new.  All is swallowed up in the victory of God’s love everywhere, and especially in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, where she works to heal bodies and souls.
