Place:  Bourges, France

Year:  1501 A.D.

Her Charism:  The Rule of this contemplative Franciscan nun is titled: The Ten Virtues of the Blessed Virgin.  Seeking the consolation of Jesus alone, this nun’s special gift is the imitation of the evangelical virtues of purity, prudence, humility, faith, prayer, obedience, poverty, patience, charity, and compassion to please and praise God.  Her genuine prayer, solitude, and silence is true asceticism – courageous, purifying, joyful, alive and animated by Christ.  She understands that this is the path of peace: to comprehend the spirit of the heart of Mary and to unite herself to her heart for the sake of the salvation of the world.  When one sees her, they see a radiant Mary still living in the world who “keeps things and ponders them in her heart.”
