SISTER OF CHRISTIAN CHARITY
Sister of Christian Charity – Sister Mary Paulina Konrad, S.C.C. Daughter of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Immaculate Conception
Foundress: Blessed Pauline Von Mallinckrodt
Place: Paderborn, Germany
Year: 1849 A.D.
Her Charism: This Sister is a woman of Christ-like love. Empowered by her Eucharistic lifestyle which impels her to be “Christ’s light in the Church of the Poor” she wants to uplift and guide the blind and all who need them in our wounded world. Her primary mission is to teach the unsighted. However, her ministry now includes running orphanages and homes for delinquents, and caring for the sick. Blessed Pauline’s charism of Charity was expressed to her daughters in this way: “As the earth doesn’t count the blades of grass, as the sun doesn’t measure its warmth, as the air doesn’t ration its breath. . . Love never counts, only love counts. As a tree doesn’t count its blossoms, as an ear of corn doesn’t measure its grains, as the ocean doesn’t ration its drops. . . Love never counts, only love counts. As heaven doesn’t count its blessings, as a mother doesn’t measure the hours, as the heart doesn’t ration its rays. . . Love never counts, only love counts.” † Everything this Sister does flows from the wellspring of the love of God. †
