SISTER OF CHARITY OF OUR LADY, MOTHER OF THE CHURCH

Sister of Charity of Our Lady, Mother of the Church – Sister Salve Regina, S.C.M.C.

Founder: Mother Marie Alma Lafond

Place: Baltic, Connecticut

Year: 1970 A.D.

Her Charism: In the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, the “protector of the works of charity,” this Sister is an instrument of Divine Love and therefore ignites the fire of God’s love in others. She embraces a two-pronged mission of sanctity and service. In a spirit of heartfelt simplicity she aspires to live a life rooted in the Gospel. Her life also reflects the quiet, faithful, surrendered love that marked Our Lady’s life – her prayer, charity, mortification, and submission to God’s Holy Will. As a true daughter in the heart of the Church, this Sister is the “Hands of Christ on earth” and spends herself in the service of others through teaching, caring for the sick and aging, assisting the poor, needy, and homeless, and through the Hispanic Ministry. Her Community’s motto is: “Ad Jesum per Mariam” – “To Jesus through Mary.”
