LITTLE SISTER OF ST. FRANCIS
Little Sister of St. Francis – Sister Mary Joy of the Angels, 0.s.f. “Never worry about the future because God is already there.” – Sister Elizabeth Ann
Foundress: Sister Ann Elizabeth Lee Pioneer Sisters: Sister Deborah and Sister Therese André
Place: Danville, New Hampshire
Year: 1979 A.D.
Her Charism: A woman called to contemplative religious life, this Sister desires and is eager to take the time to be alone with Jesus. Literally hidden behind a veil of trees, she finds great joy in quietly sitting in His presence and simply loving Him by keeping Him company and talking to Him. This is a true “love relationship” with her Divine Spouse through Eucharistic Adoration, total consecration to “Lady Poverty, silence, solitude and littleness.” Being Eucharist and Marian-centered, she dares to be transformed, like St. Francis, into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ. Trusting completely in Divine Providence, she is able to transform a junkyard into a perennial garden, a garage into a serene chapel, a living room into a library, and a dirty storage room into the heart of a guesthouse to accommodate people who come for prayer days. But all who enter her world know that Jesus is the true and best interior decorator of her humble convent and every soul.
