GOOD SAMARITAN SISTER OF NALUKOLONGO

Good Samaritan Sister of Nalukolongo –  Sister Maya St. Charles Lwanga, G.S.S.                                                                 “Be a good Samaritan of indiscriminate charity.”

Founder:  Emmanuel Cardinal Kiwanuka Nsubuga

Place:  Nalukolongo, Kampala Uganda

Year:  1978 A.D.

Her Charism:  This Sister proclaims the love, mercy, and compassion of God with her life by reaching out indiscriminately to all the needy and neglected of society.  She is a “mistress of evangelization” who serves Christ and His limitless love for the poor by catering to the destitute, the aged, the lame, the underprivileged, and the orphans with motherly tenderness.  She follows the example of the Gospel’s Good Samaritan and the directive of Jesus to “Go, and do likewise.”  Therefore, she devotes her energy to working as a teacher, nurse, catechist, social worker, and counselor binding up the wounds and the brokenness of the impoverished and forgotten.  Consecrated to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary and under the patronage of the sainted Ugandan martyrs, her faith in God and indiscriminate charity towards her weary neighbor is her way to Heaven.
