SISTER OF THE INCARNATE WORD AND BLESSED SACRAMENT

Sister of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament -Sister Mary Jane de Chantal, I.W.B.S.                                                                 “Amor Meus”  –  “My Love”

Foundress:  Venerable Jeanne Chézard de Matel

Place:  Roanne, France

Year:  1625 A.D.

Her Charism:  This Sister lives and proclaims the Incarnation of the Word – the human Face of God.  Impelled by a spirit of charity and simplicity, she extends the Incarnation to bring Jesus to birth in the world and carry the name of the Incarnate Word to the ends of the earth.  In a special way she strives to represent the Incarnate Word before the world as perfectly as possible: to achieve self-emptying of the Word made flesh, the simplicity and graciousness of Jesus with all, especially the children of the poor, His virginal chastity, His strength and obedience at Gethsemane, and His total love culminating on the Cross.  This Sister radiates Jesus as the warm, gracious, loving Person Who walked with people and lived in communion with them.  Her ministries are prayer, Adoration, the education of youth, care of the sick, orphaned, and the aged.  In her social ministries she honors diversity, acts with justice, loves tenderly, and walks humbly with God proclaiming the truth of His unconditional love.
