Marian Sister of Eucharistic Love
Marian Sister of Eucharistic Love – Sister Mary Ephrem, M.A.S.E.L. “God’s glory among the poor: a mission of love”
Foundress: Sister Stan Terese Mario Mumuni
Place: Yendi, Northern Ghana, West Africa
Year: 2009 A.D.
Her Charism: In some parts of Northern Ghana a child can be labeled a “Spirit Child” who is born with a physical disability or a mental handicap, or perhaps a twin, or to a mother who dies in childbirth. They are rejected, unwanted, and traditionally killed. This Sister rescues, feeds, loves, and provides shelter and medical care for them at the Nazareth Home for God’s Children. Through education, the poor villagers learn that all life has dignity and value, and there is hope for these innocents. With the tenderness of Our Blessed Mother, she touches the hearts of others, saves them, and provides a safe haven for the most vulnerable, and brings them to Christ. Her message is simple and pure: the thumbprint of God is on everyone’s forehead. Every life is created in God’s image and likeness and is sacred and beautiful.
