Little Sister of St. Therese of the Child Jesus
Little Sister of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus – Sister Gaëlle-Marie Nadège, P.S.S.T. † An aboriginal Order of woman religious † “Love and Serve”
Founders: Servant of God, Louis-Charles Farnese Mother Françoise Camélia Lohier
Place: Rivière Froide, Haiti
Year: 1948 A.D.
Her Charism: This Sister is a herald and a gift of God’s Merciful Love to the least of her brothers and sisters who are poor in mind and spirit. For the poor, the destitute, the sick, malnourished and suffering, (the “little ones” of God’s Kingdom) she seizes with jealous care every opportunity for self-sacrifice. Amid poverty and lack of resources, she goes everywhere on foot to serve in schools, clinics, and sanitariums in order to spread the Gospel. This courageous and fervent woman works among the peasants in the hills and most inaccessible corners of Haiti, yet her faith goes beyond the boundaries where she labors. Her disposition renders itself humble in the Arms of God, conscious of her weakness and having the daring confidence in the Father’s Goodness. But her little drop of charity and love creates ripples of hope and joy in human hearts. She is here because she cares; cares because she loves; and loves because of God. This Little Sister’s constant prayer is for a “loaves and fishes” miracle.
