Her Charism: The Rule of St. Benedict, Ora et Labora (Pray and Work), is essential to her balanced manual and intellectual monastic life. This Sister prefers nothing to Christ, and in all things, God is glorified. Like her patron saint of racial harmony, her kindness, love of prayer, and humility help her become friends with people from all social classes. This enables her to alleviate the sufferings of many. By combining compassion, meekness, humility of heart to all levels of society, and social activism with love and diligence, she follows Christ in her devout ministry. She faithfully serves and cares for children, the poor and oppressed, and the sick and dying, and actively promotes their cause. In addition to education, healthcare, this Sister prays the Liturgy of the Hours and offers communal prayer, friendship, and hope to all people. Charity in its purest and loveliest form is this Benedictine’s mission.
