Her Charism: Born of the Heart of Jesus for the world, this Sister knows that humanity suffers and God has chosen her precisely to alleviate the pain. She teaches us that only through loving and living poverty are we truly able to “be poor with the poor” and “touch the flesh of Christ” without shame or fear. Working as a nurse with apostolic perseverance, she brings the warmth and the nearness of God’s compassionate love to the impoverished and abandoned sick, helpless, and marginalized. This Sister invites us to come out of ourselves and care for those who are in need of attention, understanding, and help through tangible actions of sensitivity, sincere affection, and love. She invites us to love as Jesus loved. The spiritual mother and head of the Congregation is St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, who was Jesus’ faithful disciple and confidante. She was permitted to rest her head on His Sacred Heart and He disclosed the wonders of His love and the divine treasures of mercy, grace, and salvation for mankind of which His Heart is the source.
