Her Charism: Affectionately referred to as a “Laurista” this Sister is known for her work with indigenous peoples and a strong model for South American girls. She is called to “teach Christ” and “become an Indian with the Indians” by educating them and recognizing their dignity as human beings. By offering herself to destroy racial discrimination, she instills hope and brings the light and the joy of the Gospel to the inhabitants of the forest. She teaches the “pedagogy of love” which is to welcome all without prejudice, without discrimination, without fear or reticence, and with sincere love. She gives the best herself to them and shares what is most precious to her: Christ and His Gospel. This Sister’s motto is : “SITIO” – “I Am Thirsty.” Each letter also has a special meaning: S – servicio – (service); I – interpidez – (fearlessness); T – tolerencia – (tolerance); I – inflamada de amor – (on fire with love); O – oracion – (prayer).
