Sister of Charity of the Incarnate Word
Sister of Charity of the Incarnate Word – Sister Maria Ángele Dei, C.C.V.I. Congregatio Caritas Verbi Incarnati ” Amor meus” – “My Love”
Founder: Bishop Claude-Marie Dubuis
Place: Galveston, Texas
Year: 1869 A.D.
Her Charism: In the tradition of Venerable Mother Jeanne Chézard de Matel of Lyons, France, this Sister desires to be “a visible Gospel of intimate and sacrificial love” in this world – a love without limit for all. The mystery of the Incarnation that God, in the person of Jesus Christ, became human and lives among us, is the foundation of her life, her spirituality, and her humanity. Her work takes her into hospitals, orphanages, classrooms (elementary school through college) and involvement in social services. She sees the person of Jesus Christ (her love) suffering in the multitude of sick and infirm of every kind seeking relief at her hands.
