Missionary Servant of the Most Blessed Trinity
Missionary Servant of the Most Blessed Trinity – Sister Providence Rose, M.B.S.T. “Caritas Christi Urget Nos – “The Love of Christ Compels Us”
Founders: Reverend Thomas Augustine Judge, C.M. Mother Mary Boniface (Louise “Lulu” Margaret Keasey)
Place: Holy Trinity, Alabama
Year: 1918 A.D.
Her Charism: Devoted to the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, and the Eucharist, this Sister’s mission is to preserve the Faith in southern rural areas and among peoples who are spiritually neglected and abandoned – especially the poor. Embracing her Vincentian spirituality, her chief effort is to be good, do good, and be a power for good by developing a missionary spirit in the laity. She accomplishes this by preaching the love of God and by spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ especially among the forgotten Catholics. Essentially, this Sister is committed to taking on work that would otherwise be abandoned. She is the original Sister of what is now known as the “New Evangelization.” *Ordinarily, this Sister did not wear a veil. She put her hair up in a bun for daily chores (as most women did during that period in history) and wore a black broad-brimmed hat for Mass. The three buttons on the front of her habit represent the Trinity.*
