Handmaid of the Heart of Jesus
Handmaid of the Heart of Jesus – Sister Catherine Michael of the Eucharist, A.C.J. Ancilla Cordis Jesu
Foundress: Mother Mary Clare of the Heart of the Father (Mother Mary Clare Roufs, A.C.J.)
Place: New Ulm, Minnesota
Year: 2007 A.D.
Her Charism: This Sister brings a feminine presence to the parish family and echoes Mary’s Fiat. She feels called to live in imitation of Mary as handmaid, virgin, bride, and mother in the diocesan life of the Church by carrying out the New Evangelization in parishes. By humbly welcoming the Word planted in her, she nourishes herself so she can draw others to follow a sacred pathway. In the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus she finds a reason for her vocation and the strength for her mission to educate the faithful in charity on the richness of the liturgy. Her mission is to make each parish and community a “living cell” in the Body of Christ. This Handmaid’s holy habit is a sign that she is living for Heaven and belongs to God alone.
