Daughter of Poverty of the Blessed Sacrament
Daughter of Poverty of the Blessed Sacrament – Sister María Maravillas de Jesús, fpss Filha da Probreza do Santíssimo Sacramento “Toca de Assis” – “Desert Spirituality for the City” – “A Humble Hut” “To love, adore and offer her life to Eucharistic Love, sharing His poverty”
Founder: Reverend Roberto José Lettieri († a convert to the Catholic Faith †)
Place: Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil
Year: 1994 A.D.
Her Charism: Rooted in traditional Franciscan spirituality and embracing a life of prayer, poverty, humility, and simplicity, this Sister lives and relies totally on the Providence of God. She is born from the Heart of sacramental Jesus, is fed by Him, and is configured to His Eucharistic poverty. Through the sublime silence of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and reparation, she witnesses in a missionary way to the Holy Gospel and becomes a “sacrament of love” for the poor, sick, abandoned, and unwanted sufferer on the street. By rescuing and protecting people in situations of extreme poverty and social neglect, she becomes a living Eucharist – their spiritual food – so that “Love may be loved.”
