Daughter of Mary of the Immaculate Conception
Daughter of Mary of the Immaculate Conception – Sister Colette of Mary’s Canticle, D.M. “Make of my life a sacrament of Your Presence.”
Founder: Right Reverend Lucien Bójnowski (“The Immigrant Pastor”)
Place: New Britain, Connecticut
Year: 1904 A.D.
Her Charism: Responsive to God’s love and a Marian spirituality, this Sister desires to receive and present the loving, healing presence of Jesus in the world with the gentle and faithful commitment of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This flows from a deep love and a profound trust in God as proclaimed in Mary’s Magnificat: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” Urged by a desire to honor Our Blessed Mother in a special way, she embodies her humility, generosity, and selfless care and proclaims the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. With a joyful and grateful heart she works to ameliorate the sad plight of immigrants, orphaned children, the poor and needy, abused women, and the aged. She ministers through education, eldercare services, pastoral care, and health care at the “Red Sox Hospital.”
