Adorer of the Blood of Christ
Adorer of the Blood of Christ – Sister Mary Anastasia of the Redeemer, A.S.C. Sorores Adoratrices Pretiossimi Sanguinis “Adoring Love to the Father and Redeeming Love to humanity” “You will lack nothing if God is with you. Be a woman of great courage.”
Founders: Saint Maria De Mattias Venerable Giovanni Merlini, C.PP.S.
Place: Acuto, Italy
Year: 1834 A.D.
Her Charism: This Adorer, deeply rooted in Christ’s Paschal Mystery, is called to “bear witness in hope and joy to the living presence in Christ’s adoring, redeeming love which frees us from sin and gives meaning to human suffering.” When Jesus died, His Blood poured forth from the Cross into all humanity. This gives her hope, forgiveness, eternal life, and a sense that we are all interconnected. The power of the Blood of Christ, which she has in her own veins, allows her to become a living image – a martyr – of Divine Charity and a channel of reconciliation and hope for healing where conflicts are the sharpest and where humanity is wounded most deeply. Courageous, compassionate, and committed, her apostolates include teaching grade school through college, and conducting hospitals and homes for the elderly. In recent times she has taken on the responsibilities of Diocesan Chancellor and hospital Chaplain.
